Beyond Rehab provides information for assisting people with brain injury to reintegrate into the community. Often, social connections are strained or broken after brain injury, leaving survivors dealing with major changes to literally every aspect of their lives. Rehabilitation focuses on the cognitive, physical, and behavioral challenges after brain injury, but often the social and emotional aspects are not addressed early. This webinar will present resources for connecting people with brain injury to adaptive services in the community, helping them to keep socially connected, and working with families to ensure that emotional support is available for all.
Participants will learn:
- How brain injury can affect social/personal aspects of life
- Methods for identifying need and supporting families in accessing support services
- Types of programs available to assist people with brain injury in returning to the activities they enjoy
- Resources for getting individuals and their family members engaged in the community
