BIANYS is excited to announce an upcoming webinar in our series of professional development programs designed to provide insight and information to professionals.
Concussions: Controversies and Updates
Presented by: Emerald Lin , MD
Wed, November 15, 2017 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM EST
Recognizing the different clinical presentations and mechanisms are of paramount importance for successful management of a concussion. However, gaps exist in understanding the mechanism and clinical presentation of concussion. Many practices have a difficulty in implementing an interdisciplinary model of care. Dr. Lin will review the recent Berlin Consensus Statement guidelines and recommendations, and discuss the opposing viewpoints.
Webinar attendees will be able to identify different mechanisms of injury and different types of clinical presentation of concussion; identify risk factors for persistent symptoms and possible signs of overlapping factors unrelated to the original injury; become familiar with the Berlin Consensus Statement; and learn about emerging research studies supporting contradictory viewpoints to the Consensus Statement.
