SUMMARY:2022 TCS New York City Marathon Official Charity Partner Program
DESCRIPTION:For the seventh year in a row\, the Brain Injury Association of New York State has been selected as an Official Charity Partner of the TCS New York City Marathon! You can be a part of this momentous event by joining and supporting the BIANYS team. \nAs an Official Charity Partner\, we have 5 entries. Spots are awarded on a first-come\, first-served basis. Team members must commit to raising at least $2500\, sign and return the BIANYS agreement\, and then are given a guaranteed entry into the marathon. SUMMARY:Supporting Students in the Classroom: Return to Learn
DESCRIPTION:This webinar will allow educators to gain an understanding of the struggles a student may face after sustaining a concussion. Educators will learn about the science of concussions including the possible symptoms\, recovery time frames and some barriers that could prolong symptoms. Additionally\, concrete examples of adjustments and accommodations that can be made in the classroom to help concussed students return to learning will be presented. There will also be information on the value of a Concussion Management Team and best practices for creating one. \nThis free session is presented by Michelle R\, Kellen\, M.Ed. Professional Development Manager. \n \nThe Brain Injury Association of New York State is recognized by the New York State Education Department of the Professions as an approved provider of continuing education for the following professions:  Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Assistants\, Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists\, CTLE\, Social Work\, Occupational Therapy and Occupational Therapy assistants and Licensed Psychologists\nOne CEU credit hour will be awarded upon successful completion of the webinar and evaluation.

DESCRIPTION:Offered by the Brain Injury Association of New York State\, this Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) course is designed to help you review material for the certification examination and to strengthen the network of dedicated\, competent brain injury specialists across New York State. Starting six weeks prior to the live review\, participants will have access to weekly webinars\, receive study tips and detailed home study information that corresponds with the chapters in the Essential Brain Injury Study Guide.
