The Brain Injury Association of New York State (BIANYS) offers COPE: Concussion Outreach Prevention Education to improve concussion awareness, prevention, and management throughout New York State.
Supported by funding from the New York State Department of Health in collaboration with the New York State Senate, COPE provides free educational opportunities for healthcare professionals, educators, coaches, parents, and others who support student-athletes.
All COPE sessions provide CEUS and credits are available where applicable*
Concussion Education Modules
Learn from nationally recognized concussion experts through free, on-demand online modules. Designed for today's healthcare professionals, these evidence-based courses cover the latest approaches to concussion assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, allowing you to learn at your own pace, whenever it is convenient.
Modules include:

COPE Sessions
COPE offers free, virtual and in-person educational sessions across New York State. These interactive programs are designed for anyone involved with student-athletes, including athletic trainers, coaches, educators, school administrators, nurses, parents, and youth sports organizations.
Participants gain practical knowledge on concussion prevention, recognition, and best practices for supporting a student's safe return to the classroom and physical activity.
Presented in locations across the state, COPE sessions are free and open to anyone engaged with student athletes – parents, athletic trainers, school administrators, educators, nurses, coaches, youth sports organizations. Participants will learn valuable information on how to prevent concussions and to successfully reintegrate a concussed student into the classroom.
