Program Description:
This presentation will discuss the importance of groups in tandem with individual treatment in brain injury rehabilitation. It will highlight specifics of qualities endemic to groups and give examples to illustrate them.
About the Presenter:
Pamela Singer, MSW, LCSW
Senior Social Worker, Rusk Rehabilitation at NYU Langone Health Ambulatory Care Center
Pamela Singer, MSW, LCSW has a Bachelor’s degree from Occidental College and a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from NYU. She is currently a Senior Social Worker at Rusk Rehabilitation at NYU Langone Health Ambulatory Care Center, specializing in Brain Injury, Concussion and Stroke. Prior to that, she worked at Rusk’s inpatient Stroke and Brain Injury Unit. She has developed and continues to run numerous support and psychoeducational groups, both inpatient and outpatient. Pamela has spoken extensively on groups, and their importance in inpatient and outpatient setting.
BIANYS is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s Office of the Professions as a provider for continuing competencies in the following areas: Social Work (#0539), Physical Therapy/ PT Assistants, Speech-Language Pathologist & Audiologists, Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) and Occupational Therapy/ OT assistants.
