BRAIN INJURY AND DEMENTIA: RECOGNIZING AND REDUCING RISK ACROSS THE LIFESPAN

Over the past 30 years, research has linked moderate and severe brain injury to a greater risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia later in life. As with all dementias, they impact quality of life, shorten lifespan, and complicate efforts to effectively manage other health conditions.

This webinar will provide a brief overview of Alzheimer’s and dementia including prevalence, symptoms, and risk factors.  We will explore the connection between brain injury and cognitive decline, and review the latest research findings. Lastly, we’ll provide strategies for prevention across the lifespan, including the synergistic impact of adopting an overall healthy lifestyle to protect the brain and share helpful dementia-related resources available in your community. This webinar costs $25.

During this session, the thoughts and opinions expressed are those of the presenter and do not reflect the opinions and beliefs of the Brain Injury Association of New York State.
