BIANYS is planning the first Brain Injury Advocacy Day in Albany, NY for March 23, 2016. Join advocates from across the State at the Legislative Office Building to raise awareness of brain injury, tell legislators why brain injury is a significant issue for New Yorkers, and get involved in the legislative process!
Brain Injury Advocacy Day is March 23, 2016, 10am-3pm. We will gather for a rally in the Well of the Legislative Office Building, then spend the day networking and meeting Legislators. BIANYS has organized tours of the NYS Capitol Building for interested attendees, and attendees should contact their Legislators for meetings. Visit the Advocacy Day page of this website for more details, and sign up for information and updates from BIANYS as we get the schedule together.
Groups are encouraged – if your organization can transport a group of attendees, please contact BIANYS to help plan logistics.
Your voice matters – join us in Albany on March 23!
For advocates who are able to travel to Washington DC, Congressional Brain Injury Awareness Day is March 16. The Brain Injury Association of America plans an information fair during the day, followed by a Congressional Briefing. BIANYS is focused on our New York State Advocacy Day, so we will not be planning a group visit to Washington this year. If any BIANYS members are interested in Congressional activities, they are encouraged to make their own arrangements and share their activities with BIANYS. Details for Congressional Brain Injury Awareness Day are available on the BIAA website.
