Description
Evidence supports early mobilization and stimulation of minimally conscious individuals following a brain injury to enhance quality of life and maximize functional outcomes. This course will review a therapy focused interdisciplinary approach to the effective evaluation and individualized treatment for this patient population.

Objectives
Attendees will be able to:
Define the minimally conscious state compared to other disorders of consciousness
Verbalize the importance of establishing a consistent means to measure an individual’s response to various stimuli
Verbalize the importance of establishing interdisciplinary goals to identify an individual’s greatest areas of need
Define the roles of each therapeutic team member and how they interact with other disciplines
