POPULAR PROFESSIONAL SYMPOSIUM GEARED AT INDIVIDUALS WORKING IN THE FIELD OF BRAIN INJURY RETURNS TO SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. IN JUNE

Professional Symposium to feature presentations from leading medical professionals across the state

SARATOGA, N.Y.: May 3, 2017 –  The Brain Injury Association of New York State (BIANYS) announced today the lineup of their popular Professional Symposium slated to return to Saratoga Springs, N.Y. this June.

Professionals and specialists in the fields of brain injury medicine and rehabilitation will come together to learn about advances in treatment, network with other professionals in the field and gain access to cutting-edge research and information.

“We are thrilled about the schedule for this year’s Professional Symposium,” said Dr. Steven Flanagan, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and Chair at Rusk Rehabilitation. “We have leading medical professionals from across the state addressing various topics related to brain injury. Brain Injury is often a hidden injury profoundly affecting individuals’ physical and cognitive abilities.   It is extremely important for professionals working in this field to understand the complexity of the issues.”

This live in-person program will feature the following presentation topics: Brain Injury, Substance Abuse and PTSD; Physiology of Brain Injury; Equine Assisted Therapy and Brain Injury; Headaches after Brain Injury: Treatment Options; Exercise and Brain Injury; Sleep Disorders After TBI; and Physical Therapy Treatment Interventions Using New Technologies.

Conference and Training Details
Registration is now open for the Professional Symposium and the 35th Annual “One Voice for Brain Injury” Conference.  Both events will take place at the Holiday Inn in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. beginning Wednesday, June 14 through Friday, June 16, 2017.

The 35th Annual “One Voice for Brain Injury” Conference June 15-16, 2017
This two-day conference, which is open to professionals, brain injury service providers and survivors will contain a variety of workshops including: professional presentations; panel discussions; spiritual demonstrations and delivery of personal testimonials from brain injury survivors and their family members. The conference will feature a keynote presentation from Dr. Joel Goodman, founder of The Humor Project in Saratoga Springs.
